Project Overview
Understanding ClawQA's role in the AI + human testing pipeline
What is ClawQA?
ClawQA is the orchestration layer between AI coding agents and human QA testers. It connects OpenClaw (or any AI agent) to Applause's crowd testing platform — the world's largest community of professional testers across 200+ countries. Project managers assign work through the ClawQA dashboard, AI agents automatically analyze code and generate detailed test plans, real humans execute those tests on real devices, and when bugs are found, AI agents auto-fix the code and re-submit for verification. The loop continues until every issue is resolved.
The Problem
- AI agents build fast but can't test on real devices. Code generation is getting faster every month, but there's no way for an AI to tap a button on a physical iPhone or check how a layout renders on a Galaxy S24.
- Automated tests miss what humans catch. Unit tests and E2E scripts don't catch visual regressions, confusing UX flows, accessibility issues, or the subtle cross-browser rendering bugs that real users hit.
- Human QA is slow to set up and manage. Recruiting testers, assigning devices, writing test plans, triaging results — it takes days of project manager time before a single test gets executed.
- No closed loop exists. Until now, there was no platform that connects AI agents → human testers → AI auto-fix in a continuous, automated cycle. Someone always had to be in the middle, copying bug reports and assigning work.
The Solution: Three Roles
ClawQA defines three roles that work together in a continuous loop:
Project Manager
Assigns an OpenClaw agent to a project through the ClawQA dashboard. Reviews high-level test results and progress. Approves releases when all tests pass. Does not need to write test plans, manage testers, or triage bugs — that's all automated.
OpenClaw (AI Agent)
Analyzes the codebase (or a specific PR), generates comprehensive test plans with detailed test steps, submits them to ClawQA as test cycles, receives bug reports via webhook when testers find issues, automatically analyzes bugs, writes fixes, deploys them, and re-submits for verification.
Testers (via Applause)
Real humans on real devices — phones, tablets, desktops across every OS, browser, and screen size. They execute the test steps generated by the AI agent, submit structured bug reports with screenshots and reproduction steps, and verify that fixes actually work.
The Complete Loop
Here's the full sequence from project assignment to release approval:
ClawQA vs Applause: Who Does What?
ClawQA and Applause are complementary — ClawQA adds the AI orchestration layer, while Applause provides the human testing infrastructure.
| ClawQA (AI Orchestration) | Applause (Human Testing) |
|---|---|
| AI agent test plan generation | 1M+ testers worldwide |
| MCP / API for agent access | Real device testing |
| Project manager dashboard | Tester recruitment & payments |
| Automated fix loop | Bug triage & prioritization (watsonx) |
| Webhook dispatch to agents | Jira / GitHub / Slack integrations |
| API key management | SOC 2 compliance |
